Rural Roads
If you drive on the country roads of the ward then you will know that many of the roads are heavily potholed and deteriorating. In mid-April 2008 Renfrewshire Council will be making a significant additional investment in pothole repairs on the rural roads. You should see improvements - please tell me if you don't.
Dog Fouling
There is a problem with dog fouling in many of our streets. Please do clean up after your pet and don't allow them to foul play areas, playing fields or open spaces if you can avoid such areas. With the longer summer evenings encouraging children to play outdoors we all want them to play safely and without risk.
Grounds Maintenance A new street sweeping and grounds maintenance regime is to be tested in Ward 10 for Bishopton, Bridge of Weir and Langbank. Through this new regime it is to be hoped that village gateways, main roads and the libraries will look more appealing and welcoming. The test runs through Summer 2008. Please let me know where you see improvements.
Traffic Congestion at Bishopton Station A draft parking scheme has been prepared that uses yellow-line restrictions to effect better vehicle movements through clearer streets and promotes the use of the existing car parks.
Parking permits are being considered for residents. More details by Summer 2008.
